The Trail of Dead show was the first time I got to say "I'm on the guest list" and mean it (courtesy of acrn). The Newport was packed with anticipation, and ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead lived up to their by now established reputation as excellent live artists creating an atmosphere of noise and chaos all the while performing intense live renditions of their best songs. | |

Another band that, in my (not quite) humble opinion, is worthy of inclusion on Bearer's (s)hit parade is ...And They Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead. I remember their first show at Little Brother's a few years back. They played to about a dozen bored drunks; the only memorable part of the "performance" was when singer Jason Reece and another member of the Austin, Texas, cacaphonists (emphasis on "caca") threw their instruments at each other in a moment of banal largesse. At that point in their stunted development they could throw 'em with more proficiency than they could play 'em. | |
