Conrad Keely Insists His Band Will Continue Indefinitely

Keely called tabloid speculation claiming his band were on the last of their nine lives and planned on packing it in sometime before Christmas "entirely queer".  Never one to shy from overly bold statements, Keely also alleged Trail of Dead were "very well settled" with their quirky major label, Interscope Records.  "We're not breaking up any time soon, if that's what you've been wondering," Keely recently told an unnamed interviewer.  "Let me just put that out there so every other question in this interview won't be some scrambled version of that first one.  Whoever told you we were probably can't tell their ass from their elbow.  It simply won't happen.  Not now, not in ten years, not after we've gone well past our shelf-life, never.  Understood?  Why the hell would we?  As far as I'm concerned we haven't even hit our stride.  We all feel like we still have our best music ahead of us."

"In fact, as of sometime in the next couple of months, we're back in the studio working on our sixth album.  I've written several dozen songs in the few weeks since we finished the tour which could find their way onto the new album.  We're also looking to get back to Europe in time for a few of the bigger late summer festivals.  Nothing's fully set in stone, but we're well on our way again with full support from our label.  Those in the media who'd like to see us break-up just to say 'I told you so' will have to wait.  They can have my guitar when they pry it from my cold, dead fingers."
